No. Derby City DPC is NOT insurance. Your monthly membership fee provides for primary care services which include wellness exams, sports physicals, school physicals, basic office procedures, treatment of acute illness or minor injuries.
Yes. We encourage every patient to have insurance that would cover major medical events such as surgeries, emergency department visits and cancer. Please discuss your insurance options with your insurance agent.
Yes! As a member of Derby City DPC you will have access to a physician for your primary care. In addition, we will work with you to minimize cost with wholesale generic medication and low cost in-clinic procedures. Lastly, your membership is month to month so if we are not a good fit you can cancel anytime with 30 days notice.
No. Memberships are monthly and you have the right to cancel with 30 days notice.
No. Dr. Lovelace is an independent physician. If you are hospitalized Dr. Lovelace will resume care after you discharge from the hospital. If you are hospitalized please do not hesitate to let us know. One of the goals of having a smaller practice is to have better contact with our patients.
By not billing insurance we have few limitations on how we treat patients. As a member of Derby City DPC you will have access to Telehealth, texting, and phone calls with Dr. Lovelace. If you are experiencing an emergency please call 911 .
Yes, but if this is an emergency please call 911. If you want to make an appointment you can do that via our online scheduling website. Otherwise you can reach us via email or text.
Chronic pain and anxiety are serious medical problems that require specialized training to properly dose, monitor and manage pain and/or anxiety treatment. Also, government agencies are requiring more regulations for physicians who prescribe anxiety and/or pain medications. For these reasons, our family physicians DO NOT prescribe, or manage, long term pain or anxiety medications. There are specialists in our community that manage these serious conditions.
No. The state of Kentucky prohibits medicaid patients from signing up with practices like Derby City DPC.
Yes, but you are not allowed to submit monthly membership expenses for reimbursement. You must sign a waiver that declares that neither you nor your doctor will directly bill Medicare for your membership fee.
